É a típica série de entretenimento que os episódios têm quase todos o mesmo padrão:
Começa com uma cena de perigo, mas depois é outro gajo que fica afectado. É levado para o hospital. É diagnosticado tudo e mais alguma coisa. Não é lupus nem sarcoidose. Quase matam o paciente, mas depois no meio duma conversa ou enquanto tá a cagar eis que o gajo tem uma ideia brilhante e resolve o problema.

E assim mataste toda e qualquer série mesmo sem ir ao penico Porque poucas existem que não girem à volta do mesmo tema... Ou não eram séries mas sim contos "avulso"...

Ora no House todas aquelas "doenças" eram apenas pouco mais do que cenário para a personagem dele. Que, no seu papel de absoluto "anti-herói", enchia o écran sozinho...


House: "...like the philosopher Jagger once said, 'You can't always get what you want.'


House: (diagnosing an African-American patient) "You're turning white."
Patient's Mother: "What does that mean?"
House: "It means he doesn't need football to get a good job anymore."


Foreman: "Her oxygen saturation is normal."
House: "It's off by one percentage point."
Foreman: "It's within range."
House: "If her DNA was off by one percentage point, she'd be a dolphin."


Dr. Cameron: (diagnosing a patient with blood-clotting in his hand) "His fingers are even darker, his temperature is a hundred and two and spiking and the X-ray now shows lung infiltration."
House: "The good news is that he won't be bitching about losing his hand if he can't breathe."
